May 2019 Variable Annuity Updates

Talcott Resolution’s May 1, 2019 variable annuity product prospectuses are now available on our website, www.talcottresolution.com. Click on Variable Annuities Prospectus under Annuity Resources on the homepage and you’ll be brought to our Resource Center. From there you can view variable annuity product prospectuses, as well as fund prospectuses and Statements of Additional Information.

Administrative Change to Annual Annuity Product Prospectus Process

Beginning May 2019, contract holders with certain products will receive an audited separate account financial statement for their variable annuity contract in lieu of an annual product prospectus. Talcott Resolution is no longer required to file updated product prospectuses because these products are no longer sold by Talcott Resolution Life Insurance Company and Talcott Resolution Life and Annuity Insurance Company and meet certain criteria set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). All advisors and impacted clients were mailed a letter regarding this update in May 2019.

Issuing Company Name Change Amendment Mailing

Talcott Resolution announced the completion of the Company's acquisition by an investor group on May 31, 2018. As a result of the completion of the sale, the names of the issuing companies have been changed from Hartford Life Insurance Company and Hartford Life and Annuity Insurance Company to Talcott Resolution Life Insurance Company and Talcott Resolution Life and Annuity Insurance Company, respectively.

Over the next several months, contract amendments will be mailed to clients informing them of Talcott Resolution’s name change. Advisors were sent a letter notification of this client mailing in May 2019.

No action is required by you or your clients as a result of the sale or the company name change. The terms, features, and benefits of your clients’ annuity contracts have not changed. Talcott Resolution Life Insurance Company and Talcott Resolution Life and Annuity Insurance Company will continue to be responsible for their contract guarantees.
