At Talcott Resolution, we take protection of our customer accounts and information seriously. With the number of security breaches in the news, it is a good time to remind our clients to increase their awareness and remain vigilant against fraud. Talcott Resolution recommends five easy ways clients can help protect themselves and their investments.
1.Sign Up for Status Notifications
Clients can sign up today for Status Notifications to be alerted when certain activity is initiated within their contract. They can log into the Annuity Service Center and navigate to the “Manage Contract” tab to manage their notification preferences.
2.Strengthen Your Password
A strong password is a client’s first line of defense, which is why criminals attempt to acquire them. Passwords should be complex and difficult to guess. In order to ensure their ongoing effectiveness, passwords should be changed on a regular basis.
3.Keep Their Information Current
Clients should make sure their contact information, including mailing address, email address, and phone number is up to date with Talcott Resolution and their other financial institutions. This will ensure they receive important documents and any notices.
4.Review Your Account Statements and Notify Law Enforcement of Suspicious Activity
Clients should remain vigilant by reviewing their account statements and credit reports closely. If they detect any suspicious activity on an account, they should promptly notify the financial institution or company with which the account is maintained. They also should promptly report any fraudulent activity or suspected incidence of identity theft to proper law enforcement authorities or the Federal Trade Commission.
5.Be Aware
Clients can learn to recognize phishing emails, suspicious phone calls, and texts from individuals posing as legitimate organizations, such as a bank, credit card company, and government agencies. Do not click on links or download attachments from unknown sources.
We encourage you to take these steps to help protect your account and personal information.
